【文摘】 Greeting tourists is just the first step in the whole welcoming process. As a tour guide, you should bear in mind the following things. First of all, learn how to locate the group that you are supposed to meet according to the characteristics of different nationalities and logo of the foreign travel agency. Secondly, after meeting your guests you should confer with the tour escort and the national guide to check the number of people, and be sure that no one is missing. Thirdly, ask for the luggage claim cards and give them to the porters, so that the luggage can get to the hotel as quickly as possible. Fourth, you should courteously show the guests aboard the awaiting bus. Then make a brief welcoming speech and introduce yourself and the driver. Fifth, welcome the guests to your city and ask them for questions and any requests. Express your wish to serve them sincerely and honestly, and finally, wish your guests a pleasant journey and a wonderful stay. 1. After the tour group arrives, identify the group and make sure that all the information corresponds to yours. 2. Verify the number of the tour group through the tour leader or the national guide. If the number does not correspond to the tour plan, the local guide should inform the persons concerned in the local travel service to change the reservations of plane, train or ship tickets, accommodation, meals and etc. 3. The local guide should help the tourists get their luggage together at a designated place, and together with the tour leader and the national guide, he or she should count to get the right number of pieces and then hand them over to the luggage man of the local travel service through necessary procedures. 4. Get on the coach. 5. Contact the tour leader or the national guide and find out the details and special requirements of the group.
