A Complete Study of Textiles from Dunhuang is one of the keypublication projects of China’s Eleventh Five Year Plan. It hasbeen initiated and sponsored by Donghua University, and includescollaboration with the China National Silk Museum, the BritishMuseum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Library, theMusée Guimet, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the StateHermitage Museum, the National Museum of India, the DunhuangAcademy and the Lushun Museum etc. The aim is to produce asystematic and comprehensive scientific study of all the known silktextiles from the Mogao Grottoes, Dunhuang. This is a multi-volumepublication project, with each volume representing a differentlocation. The first volume in the series covers the Dunhuangtextiles in the UK.
